This locations food was not great, but it was satisfactory. Flavor was missing, don't know if it was because I am ill, or because of the food.

Amazing piece of food history. As a restaurant itself it is below normal McDonald's standards in my experience. The cashier receiving the order was super slow and could not work the computer efficiently. They repeatedly required assistance from a more senior worker. The semi-outdoor seated area is only swept, with the tables and chairs holding onto grime, grease and crumbs. This area also has a public bathroom, of which is in terrible state, as well as a small museum describing the history of McDonald's, this particular McDonald's and the co-founders.

The lamb gyro meet is delicious! It is well seasoned and very tender. The fries were cooked crisp as I requested, the were cooked to perfection. The tzatziki & hummus were very flavorful. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large 3 people could have enjoyed my # 10 Gyro meat & fries. The staff gets 10 🌟 and 2 👠up. The place is very clean. My Husband and I will definitely come back. The next thing we want try is the sampler plater. It has everything and looks like it can feed an army. Thank you ladies for your service. You were very nice and attentive.

The oldest McDonald's in the World. You can see how old it is with the original style. It also has a small museum which was pretty cool. Food was good too.

Historic landmark status unquestioned. Operation as regular drive through not perfect or particularly fast. Seating area does not seem always clean. But visit if you have not been before, especially walk up ordering which is the original McDonald's customer experience.

Depends on the day/time you go. Can be fast, can take forever. But they try. There is one evening manager whom I love. She is so friendly and efficient. She really tries to please the customers while respectfully keeping her employees running things smoothly. I know when she's off right when I walk through the door... Long lines, grumpy faces, and tables left looking like Lindsay Lohan on a Saturday night. Trashy. So like I said, depends when you go. My advice... Stick to the evenings and pray you get lucky. 😉

Robert was so patient in helping me. I wanted to see what type of toys they had for the happy meal. And he showed me all of them. And was very helpful when I was ordering my food.

Because this is the oldest McDonald’s in the world, you know what I’m gonna say: This place is AMAZING! It has a walk up counter to order your food. There is an on-site museum that tells you all the history about McDonald’s. And the huge retro sign out front is just so cool. And I heard they sell fried apple pies but we didn’t get to try them sadly since we arrived at breakfast time. They also sell Chicken McGriddles and Biscuits! If you’re in the Downey area and you’re craving fast food, hit up this place today and check out the museum while you’re there! This is a must visit!

The service was fast and it was a busy Sunday when I visited. My only concern was I ordered two apple pies and one was dried out. I ate in so I was able to return it without any issues, but if I would have been in a hurry and went through the drive through I would have been upset.

Its nostalgic enough for me. Its got a little museum that was closed when i went. But i dont live far from it. Its nice to come to from time to time. I dont do it often. I see more and more homeless people there since the riverbed is gaining more real estate

It's just nice to see that it's been kept running - fortunately it now has national historic preservation status and won't be touched (was under tear down threat in the 90s) Small museum and a now a sympathetically designed dining area - hard to believe you once walked up to the exterior window only - not even a drive thru.

You’re not going to this place to have healthy options on the menu. You’re not going to this place to have all the modern amenities of a modern McDonald’s. This is a McDonald’s that has been in operation since 1953, the oldest McDonald’s in the world and you’re going to just have some fun going back in history.

This is the oldest operating McDonalds in the world. It has a mini museum inside the dining area. True to the theme, even the dining area is not air conditioned and looks like the 1950’s. A must visit!!

This is the 3rd original McDonald's ever opened. The staff is very friendly and the area is extremely clean and well taken care of. The museum right next door can reach you a lot, not just about McDonald's, but the way the world has changed since it's opening.

This location offers no healthy substitutions for combinations. No green salad or yogurt parfait to get instead of hash brown.This is a cool historic location, still, they should keep up with the times. More people are getting more conscious about what they eat, hash browns and french fries are a thing of the past. Fix these issues and you'll get a 5* review from this customer.

I don't just want to brag about the food! I think that we all love Mc D"s, but I really love the outdoor setting that surrounds me museum they have. This Old McDonald's has a lot of classic style. This is a first McDonald's in the state of California! It has a lot of history to it and pictures and things to prove it for me years and years on to now that you will see in the museum as they prove it to you! I'm showing a Big Mac folks! ðŸ”
